Values, Ethics Principles and culture- These are big heavy words but do they really mean or do we really follow them in the real sense?Who sets these values and ethics? I don't deny the fact that child's first school of learning begins at home. Parents instill values, ethics in the child and raise them with good culture but as time passes by, the toddler becomes an adolescent and finally grooms up into an adult.During this entire transition, the individual evolves into a mature person and starts thinking his own way.He has his own set of values ethics principles and culture now- what is wrong in it?
Times change, people change, environment and surroundings change, trend, style, fashion, taste everything changes.
Undoubtedly values and culture are something which should be affirmed and prized but who decides which values should i adorn, which culture sholud i adopt to. What is right and what is wrong?
Its both heart and soul that enables the individual to determine and distinguish between good and evil. Heart and soul decides values, ethics, principles and culture. There is no good or bad values, ethics, principles and culture. It is how we perceive them to be.
In my opinion an honest cobler who earns his daily livelihood by sewing and mending people's shoes is a man of greater values, ethics and culture than an officer who lacks integrity and often accepts bribes to do unethical jobs.
An individual of strong will, mind and soul with pure and gentle heart would surely exhibit good values, ethics, principles and culture.
Hence to make values, culture, ethics and principles real one should first have good heart and soul.
